Immediate – both sides

Mostly, we need to write melodies to express ourselves. But at those rare times when notes won’t work, I recommend grabbing a weird noise and reaching for the sampler.

The minute this metallic sound wheezed out of our speakers, I knew I wanted to build a track round it.  I was feeling a little melancholic, and if that doesn’t come out as country-ish indie it usually comes out as haunting electronica.

Audiorealism‘s beautiful 303 emulator ABL2 sputters away under this loop, which is super sparse – just the timestretched noise, a hint of rhodes melody and some classic Roland hats and kickdrum.
